Statnett allocates Öyfjellet 400 MW capacity

NVE (The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate) has previously announced increased concession for wind farm Öyfjellet from 330 MW to 400 MW. Now Statnett has confirmed that it is possible to connect 400 MW to the grid and has allocated Eolus capacity in the grid for this purpose.

NVE motivated increased concession with the technological development that have given more efficient wind turbines that can produce more energy per turbine. The NVE’s assessment is that the increased capacity gives greater benefits without causing greater impact on nature, the environment and land use.
