Grindtorpet

Eolus is exploring the possibility of establishing a wind power facility in an area known as “Grindtorpet” in Nybro Municipality. The area is located approximately 12 km north of Alsterbro in Kalmar County. The project area is approximately 5.5 km² and is expected to be able to accommodate up to 15 wind turbines with a maximum height of 300 metres. The land in the project area is owned mainly by Sveaskog and the Diocese of Växjö.

Consultation is now under way

Establishing a wind power facility takes time, many years in fact. The construction and operation of a wind farm requires permits in accordance with the Swedish Environmental Code. Before the application for environmental permits is submitted, consultations are held with authorities, organisations, the general public and those individuals who may be deemed to be particularly affected by the establishment. In December 2021, consultations were held with the county administrative board and the municipality. The time has now come to consult local residents, other authorities, local associations, organisations and the general public. The consultation runs until 17 March 2022.

The purpose of the consultation is to provide information about the project, answer questions and obtain views. We are keen to obtain all views on the project and receive local knowledge about the area. This information will form the basis for our future work.

We have drawn up a consultation paper, which is available below. This describes the project and its potential impact on the surroundings in more detail, based on current knowledge.

Digital consultation

Due to the ongoing pandemic, increasing spread of infection and the more stringent restrictions imposed in December 2021 and January 2022, we have decided to hold the consultation digitally.

We have drawn up a consultation paper, which is available below. This describes the project and its potential impact on the surroundings in more detail, based on current knowledge.

We have also developed a consultation portal where visitors can see dynamic maps, making it easier for them to get a good idea of the location of the project. The maps show details such as property boundaries for the closest properties, as well as a visibility analysis indicating places from which the wind turbines could be seen.
